Tom Gimbel is the founder and CEO of The LaSalle Network, a $15 million staffing and recruiting firm based in Chicago. For the past 12 years, Tom has helped companies reorganize their staff to achieve maximum output and employee retention by working strategically with human resources departments and hiring managers.
Prior to starting The LaSalle Network in 1998, Tom spent several years in sales and marketing at both national and local service organizations. At 26 years old, Tom left his employer and sought to create the first Chicago firm to offer employment solutions to the accounting and finance world. With only $1,000, two employees and less than 1,200 square feet of office space, Tom set forth to change the face of staffing.
Today, The LaSalle Network boosts three offices; 60 employees; 9,000 placements; 900 candidates and a 35 percent annual growth rate.
In 2007, Tom was nominated for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award, and in 2001, The LaSalle Network landed a spot on Entrepreneur Magazine’s “Hot 100” list. Tom has been featured on ABC7 News, Wall Street Journal, Fortune Small Business, Crain’s Chicago Business, Chicago Sun-Times, Kansas City Star, Indianapolis Star and CLTV.
Tom is an active member in multiple associations including the American Staffing Association, Entrepreneurs’ Organization, Turnaround Management Association, Illinois CPA Society and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
